The press conference originally scheduled for Friday, October 26 to discuss the details of the County's trash collection program was canceled without notice and rescheduled for Wednesday, October 31. The press conference set for October 31 was also canceled without notice.
We received word that the press conference was NOT going to be rescheduled because there are too many dissenting factions in the County Council as well as the trash haulers to make it a positive press conference for the County.
Instead, the County has scheduled 8 public meetings to present the details of the trash program. See the article regarding these meetings elsewhere on this site.

County Calls Press Conference to Provide Trash Program Answers
St. Louis County has called a press conference for this Wednesday, October 31 at 10:00 a.m. at the World Trade Center, 121 S. Meramec in Clayton to provide answers to the County's trash program. The County's program would assign a trash hauler to a district in unincorporated areas. County officials have been unable to provide specific details to the program which is scheduled to start as early as January 1, 2008. As a result, many county residents are very much opposed to being forced to change trash haulers.
