STL City Trash Containers Overflowing With Trash

For the people living in the city of St. Louis: Have you noticed your trash containers have been overflowing with trash? The lid won't close because of too much trash? People aren't throwing away more trash.

It's because the refuse department of the city of St. Louis has decided to pick trash up only once a week and not twice a week like it should be. Here's the ironic part - they're still picking up yard waste twice a week. What yard waste? It's winter time. Call the mayor. Call your aldermen. Tell them this is unacceptable. Wait until summer. The smell will be unbearable as well as the addition of rodents.

This is a bad decision that should be changed.

E. St. Louis Trash Piling Up Say Residents

Residents in East St. Louis are complaining about lots of garbage piling up.

"We have leaders who don't understand that residents must pay trash pick-up bills. Every three months, $50.95. If some people would stop smoking or going to the liquor store, they could afford trash pickup. On our streets we have about 100 houses; 45 trash cans were out this week, the rest weren't. So guess what, where is the garbage going? On empty lots, alleys, in wooded areas? The City Council needs to pass a motion that every residence has to have trash pickup."
