St. Louis County Parks had $129,000 in two bank accounts

The St. Louis County Parks discovered $129,000 in two bank accounts that they knew nothing about, according to a audit of the department released Tuesday, KSDK reports. The audit also stated that while it plans to lay off 20 park department employees, it spent more than $500,000 on new vehicles.

County Executive Charlie Dooley ordered the lay-offs in December of last year in order to deal with a budget shortfall.

I have an idea for a plan the county can use to save money. Coincidentally it’s the amount Charlie gets in pay and perks in a year.

St Louis County is over staffed anyway, a few layoffs are in order, and the TAXPAYER deserves a break. The found money should be use to help repair and update some of the county deteriorating infracstructure.
Future layoffs should come from the administration staff, which is heavily bloated.
Government is ineffecient, this government is no exception.

    Transparency? Not in this administration.
