Expect Angry County Residents Later This Week

A resident called predicting a lot of angry county residents later this week. This is when the County announces the trash hauler(s) and rates for additional trash districts.

The first district awarded was in February, 2008 and went to Veolia Environmental Services with a trash service bid of $11.60 for 1x weekly pickup and recycling. Some believe this rate is too low and that Veolia is "buying" into the market to capture a larger portion of the business at a future date.

Unless the "winning" bid is not in the $11.60 range or lower, residents have every reason to be upset.

    It is interesting that Veolia
    is a International Company whose
    headquarters are in France.
    Way to Go!
France is going to replace waste haulers owned by local Americans
