What If The County's Trash Rate Is Higher Than Those Who Opted Out?

Can my subdivision opt out of the County's designated trash district at some future date? Good question. The county says no . . . but the legal community says "YES" stating there is no legal basis for enforcement.

Here's the scenario that will most probably happen somewhere down the road. Let's say the County's designated trash hauler fees average out to be $18 per month, but another trash hauler providing service to an adjoining subdivision is charging $15 per month. Should the subdivision continue to pay the higher fee to the assigned trash hauler . . . or should they "Opt-out" and sign up with the less expensive hauler?

What's your opinion? Click on COMMENTS below and share your thoughts. Is this a possibility? Should the subdivision move to the less expensive hauler? Do you feel the County has a legal basis for enforcement? Is the sky falling?
.

I think we've bitten off more than we can chew.

At one time in my life, I thought I had a handle on the meaning of the word "service."

"It's the act of doing things for other people."

Then I heard these terms which reference the word SERVICE:

    Internal Revenue Service
    Postal Service
    Telephone Service
    Civil Service
    Customer Service
    Service Stations
    Trash Service

Then I became confused about the word "service," especially “trash service.” This is not what I thought "service" meant.

Over the weekend, I overheard two farmers talking, and one of them said he had hired a bull to "service " a few of his cows. BAM! It all came into perspective. Now I understand what the County’s trash service is doing to us.

I hope you now are as enlightened as I am!!!

NO ONE should have to opt out of this stupid plan.
We live in a Country where we have FREEDOM OF CHOICE, or so I thought!
This whole thing is completely and totally illegal! People should really take a stand on this issue and fight for their rights!!!!!

Thank You to the anonymous above for your comments, especially the the last paragraph - BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
