Dooley Takes Steps to Cut County Expenses

St. Louis county government's West County Satellite Office will close permanently after Dec. 16. A press release announcing the closure was issued through the county's revenue office. The office is at 74 Clarkson Wilson Centre in Chesterfield.
Although revenue is only one of several county departments with offices at the west county site, the entire center will be closing, said revenue department spokeswoman Martina Price.

The closure of the west county facility marks the first of numerous cuts that Dooley recommended in October to resolve what he has described as a budget crisis.

Dooley also recommended closing almost half of the county's 50 active parks but so far had not done so. He also threatened to eliminate 173 jobs.

The county will continue to offer services at its remaining government satellite offices at 21 Village Square Shopping Center in Hazelwood; and at 4546 Lemay Ferry Road in Keller Plaza in South County.

Go back to last Novembers vote count, and you will see the path of destruction Dooley will follow.

Isn’t it a bit racist to close the West County office and leave the North County office open? You have to wonder what kind of outcry there would be if the closure was the other way around and done by a white county executive.
