The St. Louis County Council on Tuesday voted 4-2 to authorize longer contracts for haulers who serve eight trash collection districts in the unincorporated area. Five-year contracts would replace current three-year ones that expire Sept. 30.
The haulers now serve 80,366 households. Councilmen Steve Stenger, D-Affton, and Greg Quinn, R-Ballwin, voted no. Officials have said longer contracts could save households money and give haulers more time to pay for equipment. Quinn has said the council should delay action because of suits challenging the districts.
The savings for homeowners are reported to be neglible and not an honest value for the longer contract. But what is honesty in county politics today?

Well, it looks like there are two members of the council that are not for sale…….or maybe they just don’t own horses. Thanks to Mr. Stenger and Mr. Quinn for having integrity! And to the rest of the council, it’s time to cut the strings before the puppet master drags you down with him.
ReplyDeleteAllied Waste sweeps the first four waste districts in bids. Districts 1-3-5-7 have been offered low bids. Next week, Districts 2-4-6-8 will be opened.
