Do You Know Cloward-Piven? How About Charlie Dooley & John Nations

Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven were communist professors at Columbia University (a Marxism bastion). In 1966, they published an article in The Nation magazine outlining a strategy to overwhelm the welfare system, thereby manufacturing a crisis which socialists could exploit to demand an even larger government role.

Leftists have used the Cloward-Piven strategy for decades, at local, state, and federal levels. California and Illinois are on the brink of bankruptcy because of the skillful application of Cloward-Piven—and the lack of spine on the part of politicians and citizens alike. At some point, the people’s failure to say “no” transfers fault to the people themselves.

County Executive Charlie Dooley is a master of the Cloward-Piven strategy. He has brought Chesterfield Mayor John Nations into his scheme to extort millions from County taxpayers at the expense of the poor by manufacturing a false crisis.

In 2008, Dooley cut funding for Metro. Metro “responded” by cutting bus lines, especially outside of the I-270 loop. Dooley then put Proposition M on the ballot in November 2008. Charlie Dooley manufactured a crises in order to coerce a 7 percent tax increase from the people he serves. That’s not leadership; it’s extortion.

Every large and highly populated area/region in the country, has a high end area wide transportation system.

Why should St. Louis be any different?

Transportation is a Regional issue and benefit, and should be supported by the general population of the region.

That is part of the problem in this region, too much small and local government, overlapping, and working in counter productive fashion. There needs to be consolidation to attain real positive growth and effecient government and development.
