Hearing On Waste and Trash Collection in St. Louis County Set for Tuesday, April 8

There will be a Hearing by the Missouri House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Environment, chaired by State Representative Walt Bivins to hear testimony on State Representative Jim Lembke’s sponsored House Bill 2443 – Waste and Trash Collection in St. Louis County.

This bill prohibits St. Louis County from enacting any charter provision governing waste and trash collection in unincorporated areas of the county. The meeting will be held in Jefferson City, MO at the Capitol building, room 3 at noon on Tuesday, April 8, 2008.

State Representative Jim Lembke and Councilman, John Campisi, need your assistance and ask you to attend the hearing and to testify for the Bill if we are to defeat the existing trash bill that we now have in St. Louis County.

Under Missouri Statute, is a Just Compensation clause that says, that if any city or county contracts out for services, it must give proper 2 years notice to the contractors prior to contracting, or pay for their lost business. Has the County properly filed Just Compensation notices with haulers??? This should be looked at.
