Weber Seeks Permit for Trash Transfer Station

Fred Weber Inc. has requested a state permit to build a controversial trash transfer station near Baumgartner and Old Baumgartner roads. The Department of Natural Resources has 180 days to approve or reject the request, said Jim Bell, chief of engineering for solid waste management.

The agency will hold a public hearing on the application in March or April in the Oakville area, and arrange for local sites where people could read Weber's application, which is more than 100 pages, Bell said.The site already has approval from St. Louis County, and only technical objections will be considered now, Bell said.
